PRESS RELEASE — Ramdeobaba University (RBU), Nagpur, and QClairvoyance Quantum Labs Pvt. Ltd., a deep-tech startup based in Secunderabad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish two specialised laboratories on the RBU campus: a quantum software lab and a quantum communication hardware lab.

The initiative aims to bring emerging quantum technologies into the classroom, giving students and faculty hands-on access to quantum computing and next-generation secure communication technologies. Through practical learning and research exposure, the collaboration will help students develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand and work with these technologies as they evolve.

The quantum software lab will use QClair-Edu, QClairvoyance‘s cloud-based educational platform. Accessible through a web browser, the platform will allow students to develop and test quantum algorithms, visualise quantum circuits and state vectors in real time, and compare quantum computing results with classical methods. As it does not require local installation or specialised computing hardware, students can focus on learning, experimentation and understanding how quantum computing works.

Complementing this software-based learning, the quantum communication hardware lab will feature Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) kits, along with cybersecurity products. These technologies use principles of quantum physics to support secure communication, key distribution and random number generation. By working with these systems, students will gain a practical understanding of how quantum technologies can be applied to real-world security challenges.

Together, the two laboratories will give students exposure to both the software and hardware aspects of quantum technology, helping them connect classroom concepts with practical applications. This combination of learning and experimentation will also create a foundation for further research and innovation in the field.

To strengthen this learning experience, QClairvoyance will depute two full-time postdoctoral or PhD-qualified professionals to RBU for 12 months as Professors of Practice or Adjunct Faculty. They will conduct classes and laboratory sessions, mentor students and support faculty development. In addition, a one-week faculty development programme will be organised after the laboratory systems are installed, helping RBU faculty deepen their understanding of these technologies and incorporate them into teaching and research.

Beyond classroom and laboratory sessions, the collaboration will create opportunities for students and faculty to work on research, engage with industry experts and explore future career paths. Students will receive guidance on research problem statements and academic projects, while faculty members will be supported in identifying research funding opportunities and preparing proposals. The partnership will also encourage joint research and academic publications, provide internship opportunities at QClairvoyance for eligible students and faculty, with the possibility of employment, and facilitate workshops, expert talks and industry-oriented programmes.

These opportunities will help students move beyond theoretical knowledge and apply what they learn to research and industry challenges. At the same time, faculty members will be able to strengthen their research capabilities, pursue collaborative projects and build deeper expertise in quantum technology.

As part of the arrangement, RBU will provide the necessary infrastructure for the laboratories, while its faculty and students will participate in joint research initiatives with QClairvoyance. By bringing academic learning and industry expertise closer together, the collaboration aims to strengthen research, innovation and skill development in quantum technologies.

“Quantum technologies are moving from research to practical applications, and India needs a skilled workforce to support this transition. Students need the opportunity to work with these technologies, understand their applications and develop the skills to build solutions of their own. By bringing quantum software and communication technologies directly to the campus, we aim to make this learning more accessible and create opportunities for research, innovation and future careers,” said Sai Shankar P., Director, QClairvoyance Quantum Labs Pvt. Ltd.

“Education must keep pace with the technologies that are shaping the world. These laboratories will give our students and faculty the opportunity to move beyond textbooks and learn through practical experience, experimentation and research. Our collaboration with QClairvoyance will help connect academic knowledge with industry requirements and encourage students to explore new areas of computing, communication and cybersecurity,” said Dr. Rajesh S. Pande, Vice Chancellor, Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur.
